The Delmarva Peninsula is an agricultural powerhouse. The waters of
the Chesapeake Bay yield over 500 million pounds of seafood annually.
The area is the 5th largest poultry producing region in the United
States and thousands of acres are in vegetable production.
The preparation of these products to bring them to market generates a wide variety of by-products that historically have been managed through land application or land filling.
Bay Organics offers the producers and processors of these agricultural products a cost effective and environmentally sound alternative to land application or land filling of nutrient rich by-products. Through our composting process, the nutrients in these by-products are converted to their organic, water insoluble form, there by reducing potential run-off from these materials if they were land applied.
Bay Organics products build healthy soil. Healthy soil grows healthy plants. Healthy plants require less water, less fertilizer and are more resistant to disease and pests, reducing the potential nutrient and chemical run-off from lawns and landscapes.
This is what Bay Organics is all about; Protecting the Chesapeake Bay on Both Sides of the Bay Bridge.
